Most of these winners come from the middle or lower-middle class and have been actively participating in these lotteries, leading to numerous success stories in recent years.

The lucky control room operator, Sreeju, works in the oil and gas industry in Fujairah, about 120 kilometers east of Dubai. After 11 years in the UAE, he was left “speechless, shocked, and surprised” when he discovered he had won the top prize of Dh 20,000,000 (around ₹45 crore) in the Mahzooz Saturday Millions draw.
Sreeju, a 39-year-old father of twin six-year-olds, plans to buy a home in India without any financial worries. His story is just one of many, as weekly draws have created 64 millionaires and distributed nearly half a billion dirhams to over 1,107,000 winners, according to Suzan Kazzi, Head of Communications and CSR of Mahzooz Saturday Millions.
Other Indians have also tasted success. Sarath Sivadasan, a 36-year-old procurement professional in Dubai, won Dh50,000 (about ₹11 lakh) with Emirates Draw FAST5 after just two months of participation. Manoj Bhavsar, an electronics technician in Abu Dhabi, won Dh75,000 (approximately ₹16 lakh) in the FAST5 raffle.
Anil Gianchandani, a 60-year-old shipping manager from Delhi working in Sharjah, won $1 million in the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire promotion. He is the 219th Indian to win $1 million in this promotion since 1999.
There were also two Indians among the winners of the Mahzooz Saturday Millions who received Dh100,000 each (approximately ₹22 lakh), including a fire and safety technician, Sherien, who has been living in the UAE for two decades and found it hard to believe he had won such a substantial prize for the first time.
