Each ticket for MegaMillions costs $2. You can buy as many tickets as you want to play with.

How to Play MegaMillions?

MegaMillions is a pretty straightforward lottery game. There are two separate pools of balls (numbers) – white balls and gold balls. The players have to choose five different main numbers between 1 – 70 from the pool of White Balls, and the sixth Mega Ball number from the pool of Gold Balls. This Mega Ball number lies between 1 – 25.

Alternatively, you can use a random number generator (Easy Pick). Upon activating the Easy Pick option, the computer will automatically select five lucky random numbers from 1 – 70 and one Mega Ball number from 1 – 25.

Prizes in MegaMillions Lottery

The jackpot winner in a MegaMillions lottery draw is the player who has matched all six numbers (five main numbers and one Mega Ball number) in that particular draw.

However, there are a total of nine winning levels in a MegaMillions lottery draw.

If nobody wins the jackpot, then the prize is added to the next draw. This increases the jackpot prize of the forthcoming draw. While previously, the rollover jackpot prize was restricted to $5 Million, there is no fixed amount of jackpot rollovers. Every time there is no jackpot winner, it gets rolled over.

Note that MegaMillions is perhaps the only lottery in the world that offers a prize even on matching one number. However, this one number should be the Mega Ball number.

How to claim the lottery prize?

If you turn out to be a winner, you will be informed of your winning via text message or on your registered email address. Depending upon the amount won, the operators will contact you to describe the claiming process.

All winning prizes of up to Rs 50,000 can be claimed online. The prize money is automatically transferred to the winner’s registered bank account. Note that according to the law of India, the amount will be subjected to the tax obligations as specified by the government.

As for the jackpot winners, MegaMillions Lottery offers two methods of payment. The jackpot amount is transferred to your bank account. Or you can get an annuity (a fixed amount of money paid annually).

In the annual payment (annuity) method, the winner is paid in 29 graduated yearly installments. These installments will grow by 5% on the balance amount each year.

Note: It is recommended to preserve a copy of the ticket for the record and future reference. The payments are made within three or four days after the draw takes place.
